Response To 2009 H1N1 Flu ("Swine Flu") and You- Part One

I learned a lot from this article. There is so much more to H1N1 one then it just being a flu virus. Researching this topic has been very helpful to me because it gives me much more of an understanding of this virus. Not only have I learned about it but I have learned ways to prevent from getting it and many interesting facts about it. After learning some things about this topic it makes many things run through my head. I wanna know more about H1N1. I have many question that I want to find the answers to about this topic.

2009 H1N1 Flu ("Swine Flu") and You- Part One

  • Most of the people that have H1N1 is 5-18 years old
  • The age group that has it the least is 65 and older
  • H1N1 is spreading world wide
  • Swine flu is another name for H1N1
  • Spreads through coughing or sneezing
  • Can get it from touching objects or surfaces with flu viruses on it
  • Touching your mouth or nose is a big way to get it
  • Some symptoms
  1. Fever
  2. Cough
  3. Sore throat
  4. Runny or stuffy nose
  5. Body aches
  6. Headache
  7. Chills
  8. Fatigue
  9. Vomiting
  10. Diarrhea
  • Not all have a fever
  • Illness varies from mild to severe
  • People that have a high risk of it is young children and older people
  • Washing your hangs is the main thing to prevent it
  • Wash them with warm water for 15-20 seconds
  • Sneezing into your arm is another thing to help
  • Avoid close contact with people
  • If you have any of the symptoms STAY HOME!
  • There are vacinations that you can take
