I chose this topic because I find that it is very important. I think that this topic will interest me for a while because I like to know what is going on with H1N1. It’s good to know the information about it because it could have a big impact on my life and my future. It could because if I some how got H1N1 then I would get very ill and possibly die. There are a lot of things that I want to know about this topic such as, how did H1N1 start? Is there anything that we can do to prevent it for happening? What ages are mostly effected by this? What are some of the symptoms that you may have if you have H1N1? What is the difference from H1N1 and the regular seasonal flu?
From the research that I have done so far I haven’t found out a lot of information with what’s happening at the moment with H1N1. I do know that there have been a lot of out breaks of H1N1, Especially in colleges, high schools, and even middle schools. They have a vaccine for people to get if they choose to. Some people think that they shouldn’t have a choice weather they should get it or not. One of the articles that I found was “Swine Flu Vaccine Deliveries Run Late” This article explains a lot about the vaccine. “Harvard Health Letter” This is a letter from Harvard Health Center, it tells a lot about what is going on with H1N1 at Harvard. “What is swine flu?” This is another article that I found that I thought was good because it tells you a lot about swine flu. It tells you exactly what it is and everything along those lines. There wasn’t really a particular spot that I found good articles. I found good ones in many different places. The good part about these articles is that they are all recent and up to date.
I checked on the library website for a book and there was none on my topic. Then I looked on Maine Cat and there was still nothing on my topic.
Then dates that were on my articles were for the most part all very recent. Some of them were all little bit older but they were no more then a month old. I have some predictions for what might happen with my topic. One of them is that I think that it will continue to go on. Another prediction that I have is that it might get worse. I think that because its getting colder and winters is almost her and people tend to get more sick during the colder months. My third prediction is that I think that after winter is over it will start to slow down. There isn't really one specific thing that I would like to know about my topic. I would just like to get a understanding of the whole concept of H1N1. I think it will get more interesting as the winter goes on, then after winter I think that it will start to slow down and then there will be less information.
There is a few people that I can think of that I could interview and they would be my school nurse or a doctor. I think that either of them would be a great person to interview because they know all about it. My school nurse knows things about H1N1 because she needs to do everything she can to prevent anyone from getting H1N1. The place that I would go to get this information would be the health center at my school or any local hospital. This would be helpful to me because I could have more of an understanding on this topic.
